To promote the vigorous development of macroeconomic research in China, on June 12, 2021, the 2nd China Macroeconomics Forum was successfully held at Wuhan University. Nearly a hundred experts and scholars from dozens of universities and scientific research institutions across the country gathered in Luojia Mountain, join in the grand event. The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Du Xiaocheng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics and Management of Wuhan University.
Shen Zhuanghai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Wuhan University, expressed his heartfelt gratitude and warm welcome to all the experts and scholars for coming. He emphasized that the second China Macroeconomist Forum, originally scheduled to be held in 2020, will be held in the city of heroes a year later. The significance of 2021 is the first year of the "14th Five-Year Plan". It is hoped that participating experts and scholars will use this forum to offer advice and suggestions for the Chinese economy and promote high-quality economic development.
Huang Qunhui, Director of the Institute of Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and editor-in-chief of "Economic Research", said that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and it is also the beginning of the new journey of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way and marching towards the second centenary goal. China will enter a new stage of development and build a new development pattern under the guidance of new development concepts. Chinese macroeconomicists must also build a new development pattern of Chinese economics.
Subsequently, Dean Song Min of the School of EMS once again thanked and welcomed the guests on behalf of the school. Dean Song Min first gave an overall introduction to the college and expressed his willingness to strengthen exchanges and deepen cooperation with sister colleges and universities, and jointly explore the development path of macroeconomics under the new situation.
