The program “Research on Inspection Measures for the Follow-up Work in the Three Gorges Project” headed by Professor Wang Xuejun of our school had completed all the requirements and tasks smoothly. Their research result Interim Inspection Measures for the Follow-up Work in the Three Gorges Project was approved by the State Council leaders and had been issued and implemented by the Executive Office of Three Gorges Project Construction Committee - State Council of the People’s Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the Executive Office) in September 2012.

It is reported that this program is authorized by the inspection office of the Executive Office and headed by Professor Wang Xuejun, with experts and scholars including Gao Hua, Wang Ying, Wen Xingqi, Chen Zhongbi, Zhuang Han, and Liu Jin (now at Huaqiao University) working on it. Changjiang Project Supervision & Consultant Co., Ltd (Hubei) undertook the major scientific & research projects. Since it was initiated, the program went smoothly in all aspects and has entered into the Inspection Measures for the Follow-up Work in the Three Gorges Project (Draft). After several field visits, consultation with all parties concerned frequently, and constant revision and improvement, the Interim Inspection Measures for the Follow-up Work in the Three Gorges Project was finally achieved. It had been approved by the State Council and issued and implemented in September 2012.

The Interim Measures is formulated in accordance with the state laws, rules, policies, regulations, and technical standards for engineering construction, as well as the resettlement plan, annual plan, and immigration policies and regulations regarding the Three Gorges Project. Based on achievements made in the supervision network leaded by government audit, financial check, project quality inspection, comprehensive resettlement supervision, and discipline inspection and supervision, this program has resolved a great many problems and difficulties occurring in the follow-up inspection work for the Three Gorges Project. It turns out to be of great significance for ensuring the smooth, stable, and secure implementation of the follow-up work in the Three Gorges Project and has brought remarkable economic and social benefits.

This program has won high praise of the State Council leaders and was implemented in a rapid manner, indicating that the scientific & research level of our school was promoted to a higher stage and the government established closer cooperation with other units, and showing that our school has attached great importance to the scientific research, achievement transformation, reality attention and social responsibilities.
